Seminar for Neurological Music Therapy Germany

next date: 8.-11. October 2020

Maximum number of participants: 42

For whom?

All professional groups from the field of rehabilitation (ie in addition to music therapists, also doctors, nurses and therapists from other areas and students or trainees).

What is conveyed?

Neurological Music Therapy (NMT) is the therapeutic application of music in cognitive, sensory and motor function training for neurological patients. NMT is an evidence-based treatment. Treatment techniques are based on scientific knowledge of music perception and production and their impact on non-musical brain and behavioral functions. The spectrum of indications for NMT includes: stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease, infantile cerebral palsy, Alzheimer's disease, autism and other neurological diseases that impair cognition, movement and communication (e.g. multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, etc.). In addition to the scientific basics, the seminar also provides in-depth practical training.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation - issued by Academy for Neurologic Music Therapy.

All certified are registered in the Internet register as members of the RFUnkefer International Academy for Neurologic Music Therapy guided.

The seminar will take place in English. All important content is simultaneously translated into German on one screen.

Who can practice NMT?

The certificate of participation entitles music therapists with at least a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent training - see Permanent Conference of Training Managers for Private Law Training)

All other participants have the opportunity to integrate the principles of NMT into their respective professional practice without calling this "neurological music therapy". Music therapy students can use NMT as soon as they have the required minimum degree.

The certificate entitles you to exercise NMT for 3 years. After that, re-certification in an advanced course is required.
